....Commends FG for distributing kits to 1500 Batch C1 beneficiaries
Barley fifty four days to end of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration, a total of one thousand five hundred beneficiaries across the Six States of the South South Geo political zone have received starter packs from the federal government at the end of their three-month training on different skills.
At the colourful closing ceremony held at Bible College, Ukpong Abak on Wednesday, April 5th, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, said 1500 beneficiaries were trained out of 3,300 who reported to different training camps.
Farouq, who was represented by the Akwa Ibom State Focal Person, Dr. Godwin Akpan said NSIP is reformative and the largest social protection programmes in Africa aimed at improving the lives of the poor and most vulnerable in the country.
Akpan further informed that the programme has also develop competencies which will increase production and add to the overall growth of the society, hinted that today marks the end of the N-Knowledge Expansion Training Programme.
"You will confirm by now that N-Knowledge is focused on equipping young Nigerians with relevant skills and certification to become competent workers, innovators and entrepreneurs, prepared for both the domestic and global digital job market."
Akpan appealed to the incoming administration to sustain the Npower programme for the overall benefits of masses.
The closing ceremony had in attendance Mr. Enobong Okon, South South contact person, Mrs. Edith Adjari South South training manager, Mr. Samuel Okon, Registrar of the college who represents the provost amongst other dignitaries.
