The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) was ordered by the National Industrial Court to stop its seven-month strike and resume work.
The decision was given by Justice Polycarp Hamman in his judgment on a lawsuit brought by the Federal Government to get ASUU to end its seven-month strike.
He claimed he was using the Trade Dispute Act's Section 18, which empowers the court to impose a stop-strike order when the national interest is at risk.
According to Justice Hamman, the application was meritorious and deserved the court's approval.
